About the artist
Cathrine Evelid (b. 1969 in Bergen, NO) works as a visual artist and writer. She holds a BA from Kunsthøgskolen i Bergen, Norway, and an MA from Chelsea College of Art and Design in London, UK. She is interested in stories, personal or collective, and is especially drawn to tragedy, idiocy and a certain naïveté. Her work takes form as puppetshows, shortfilm, and print, and has been shown at Overgaden, Institutt for Samtidskunst, København. LUX, Arcola Theatre, London, UK, and Henie Onstad Kunstsenter, Oslo, NO. She has written the play Diane von Furstenbergs Kloner which was part of Norsk Dramatikkfestival 2021, and published four novels with Aschehoug Forlag; Mamma er en countrysang, (2012), Dinglen & Ramona (2013), Drømmer fra Texaco (2016), Lyden av fjell (2019).
